Q8. Where can I get a copy of the City Council meeting agenda?
Minutes of Meetings?
A. A copy of the agenda of a forthcoming City Council
meeting is available for perusal by the public during office
hours. Agenda outlines and Minutes of all meetings may also
be viewed or downloaded in the Government>City
Council>City Coucil Meetings section. Minutes of City
Council meetings are approved during the succeeding meeting.
These are posted on our site one day after the meeting.

Q9. Are City Commission meetings open to the public?
A. Yes.
The Planning
Commission meetings are held in the City
Hall Council Chambers at 6:00
p.m. on the second and fourth
Monday of each month. These meetings are convened to
consider zone changes, variances, divisions of property, conditional
use permits and future plans for development in the City.

Clerk's Office.

Q11. Do I need a license to operate a business in Pico Rivera?
A. Yes. Any person doing business, conducting any
trading, or practicing any profession within the City should
apply for a business license. Visit City
Hall during office hours to obtain application packets
and assistance. The business license application packets are
available online and may be downloaded in the Business>Services
section. You may also request applications by telephone, fax

Q12. I would like to open a business in Pico Rivera.
What permits do I need? Who do I contact?
A. In addition to a business
license, you may need to apply for additional permits,
depending on the nature and the location of your business.
Please call the Revenue
Division for more information or download the Business
License packet and guidelines. The checklist included
in the Business License Application Packet lists the agencies
you may need to see to apply for appropriate permits for your
business.
To find out if the site you have selected for your business
is zoned for your intended operation, contact the Planning
Division. You may also send your inquiry via email.
If you plan improvements to your facilities, you need to
contact the Building

Can Pico Rivera help?
A. Yes. Pico Rivera, through its Business
Assistance Program, helps local businesses improve their
operations by providing consultants who can help pinpoint
areas where a business can improve, streamline or strengthen
its operations or expand its market/clientele. The services
of these consultants are provided at no cost. To better serve
local business owners or managers, who may have difficulty
in being away from their operations for a long period of time,
the consultants visit Pico Rivera to conduct their consultations.

Q14. Does the City provide loans to local businesses?
A. The City of Pico Rivera does not offer a business
loan program. However, it can assist businesses with locating
information about the best type of loan for a specific need.
The City also helps local businesses by providing consultants
who will assist the business in packaging loan documents or
business proposals for submission to the appropriate financial
institution.

A. Yes. Any change in the existing signage of your

Q18. I recently moved to Pico Rivera with my dogs which have
current licenses. Do I need to apply for new dog licenses?
A. Yes. You must secure a license for your pet from
the City within 30 days after it is brought into the City
or reaches four months in age. Dog licenses must be renewed
each year by July 31. The licensing period is from July 1
through June 30.
An application for a license may be obtained from City
Hall during normal business hours.
